Rock Peace Not Bullying

Most students and parents feel schools are not doing enough to help decrease bullying and statistics show it has become an epidemic.  Legislature is doing what they can to help deter bullying.  Now students are adding a new campaign called Spread The Word/Rock The Link to empower one another and help change the culture of bullying by utilizing a unique approach to discourage bullying, show compassion and motivation for kids who are bullied and promote positive peer pressure by addressing bystanders.Spread The Word/Rock The Link encourages kids to send a special e message link to a child that is being bullied, the bystander or the child who is bullying to rock peace not bullying.   This new nationwide approach was created by Rocking It For Life.  Rocking It For Life is a children motivational character building project.

“So many kids are hurting and it’s going to take kids to make a difference.  We can do this”, says Lisa a middle school student who has been a target of bullying and has seen the harmful results it has on other kids too.

Even adults wish they got support and encouragement when they were being bullied in school.  As we know bullying has lingering negative effects into adulthood.

“Our goal is to help create awareness, let kids know bullying is not acceptable.  Also to empower and encourage kids that are targets or victims of bullying and see themselves with a team of support, letting them know they are not alone.  In addition, set the tone of expectation with positive peer pressure to maintain a bully free zone no matter where a child goes to school”, says Breezy co-founder of Rocking It For Life.  “A kid in one state can easily enrich the life of a kid in another state, as they spread the word and rock the link, helping to increase self-esteem, confidence, build good character and inspire kids to check themselves and look at how they are really treating others”, added Breezy.
